Jeff Webb resigned from Varsity Spirit and its parent company, Varsity Brands, to focus on the International Cheer Union and other projects, including Human Events.
Herff Jones Webb served as Herff Jones' chairman until 2020. The Indianapolis-based company is heavily involved in top-tier college and professional sports, including cheerleading. It is best known for producing and selling educational recognition products and achievement-based motivational materials.
Webb, the chairman, took over in 2014, following Varsity Brands' acquisition of the company the previous year.
Academic Background
Jeff attended the University of Oklahoma, a prestigious public research university located south of Oklahoma City in Norman, the state's third-largest city. It was established in 1890 and offered a significant university experience in a private college setting. The school has three Oklahoma locations and offers study-abroad opportunities at several international campuses.
Webb graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in political science and government. While at the school, he became an active campus leader and was heavily involved with the cheer squad. As a result of his involvement, he began working for the National Cheerleaders Association while still a university student.
Jeff Webb remained active in the National Cheerleaders Association after finishing his studies at the University of Oklahoma. His ongoing collaboration with the association would eventually launch his business career. He later left the National Cheerleaders Association to found the Universal Cheerleading Association and the precursor to Varsity Brands, Varsity Spirit.
Volunteering for Charities
Webb, an avid philanthropist, is a well-known entrepreneur, author, and business leader. He has collaborated with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for over a decade. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is changing how the world thinks about, treats, and defeats childhood cancers and other life-threatening illnesses.
He has also contributed significantly to the Special Olympics organization. The Special Olympics movement is the world's largest sporting organization. It provides year-round training and activities for disabled children and adults. It currently serves over 5 million participants in over 170 countries worldwide.
Webb was previously a long-time supporter of the now-defunct Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. The Muscular Dystrophy Association benefited greatly from the annual telethon. The Muscular Dystrophy Association, a non-profit organization, remains dedicated to helping people with neuromuscular diseases.

Jeff Webb, perhaps more than any other individual, is credited with advancing and developing cheerleading as a sport. He is also in charge of making cheerleading an official Olympic sport. He is still widely regarded as a global cheerleading leader and is credited with establishing international sports recognition.
Webb is the best-selling author of American Restoration: How to Unshackle the Great Middle Class. The 192-page book details the author's efforts to make cheerleading an internationally recognized sport. It also outlines several steps the author believes are necessary to unlock the potential of the American middle class.
Personal Interests
Jeff has diverse hobbies and interests outside of his work as an entrepreneur, author, business leader, and philanthropist. Boating, conservation, duck hunting, and one-wheeling are among these hobbies and interests.
Father-of-two Webb spends as much time with his close friends and family. Shelby County, Tennessee, is where he was born and raised. He is still in Tennessee, where he lives in Memphis on the Mississippi River with his Labrador Retriever dog.
